This is a 2nd Shift position, Monday-Thursday, (4x10) 4:00PM - 2:00AM.
This role is designed for individuals with little or no machining or grinding background to develop the skills needed to become a Certified Operator at Pratt & Whitney.
Selected employees will attend a 3-week training program followed by 4-8 weeks of on-the-job training.
Learn to set up and operate NC milling/grinding machines, vertical turret lathes, or VTCs to perform routine production operations on various weldments and assemblies.
Work from operation sheets, part travelers, BOROPS, and oral instructions to set up equipment for grinding, turning, facing, boring, and chamfering operations involving limited surfaces.
Verify conformance of finished work to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
Obtain operator certification to accept or reject parts.
Perform required total preventive maintenance (TPM) on machines.
Collaborate with engineers, quality assurance, programmers, and other production personnel to resolve machining problems and assist in part process development.
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.

High School diploma or GED.
1+ years of manufacturing, automotive, or related trade experience.
Ability to perform computations involving decimals and fractions.
Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
This role is onsite, requiring employees to work primarily at the designated site. Candidates will learn more about role type and site status during the recruiting process.
