Job summary

Buffalo Public Schools is seeking a Modified Boys Basketball Coach for PS 081 School for the 2026-2027 school year. The coach will develop game strategies, run practices, and mentor student-athletes to compete successfully within NYSPHSAA guidelines.

Responsibilities include scheduling, equipment oversight, communicating with administrators and families, and upholding NFHS ethics. The role requires dependable availability Monday through Saturday during the season and adherence to district

Qualifications

Experience in organized basketball at club, select, modified, varsity or college level preferred.
Ability to teach rules, strategies and techniques of basketball.
Ability to work with administrators, parents and students effectively.

Responsibilities

Adhere to the NFHS Coaches Code of Ethics.
Model nondiscriminatory practices in all activities.
Be available for contests and practices during the season, Monday through Saturday and some holidays.
Supervise equipment, uniforms, and supplies; submit requests as needed.
Establish positive relationships with coaches, athletes, parents, and community members.
Prepare and submit schedule of scrimmages and non-league contests on time.
Follow district and medical staff procedures for athlete injuries.
Report scores to news media when required and notify of cancellations.
Attend meetings with Athletic Director or Principal and participate in related activities.
