Job summary

Otis Elevator Co. in Chicago seeks a highly motivated Modernization Superintendent to oversee repair projects and lead field operations, including staff selection, training and safety. The role requires strong communication, team orientation, and multi-project leadership within a fast-paced environment.

You will coordinate with project managers, subcontractors and clients on modernization sites, ensuring quality, safety and on-time delivery while managing budgets and resources.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of elevator industry experience; field experience preferred.
• Excellent communication skills; able to work in a highly team-oriented and dynamic environment.
• Self-motivated; able to manage many simultaneous projects and responsibilities.
• Strong computer skills; travel within territory; driver’s license as required.
• High school education required; BA/BS degree preferred or equivalent relevant work experience (at least 5 years).

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct the field operations for a large volume of non-contract repair and hydraulic elevator modernization.
• Modernization sales support, route control, scheduling and quality assurance.
• Maintaining customer quality assurance; emphasis on safety, improving efficiencies, managing the expenditure of labor, materials and performance to estimate.
• Coordinate daily activities with the branch’s project manager and work with general contractors, owner’s agency and developers for various modernization sites.
• Providing technical support.
• Authorizing change orders.
• Drive safety in the workplace.

Job Responsibilities :

Experience/Qualifications:

• Candidates must have strong computer skills
• Travel is required within your territory, driver’s license as required for your territory

_ The salary range for this role is $125,000 - 160,000. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may change in the future. Pay within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs. _
