Job description

Microsoft Japan is seeking candidates for a technical sales role specializing in AI-driven solutions such as Copilot for Microsoft 365, as well as hybrid work solutions centered around Microsoft 365 and Teams. This position involves engaging with customers and presenting proposals from a technical perspective.

Key responsibilities include promoting a wide range of scenarios, such as:

  • Designing remote work environments that support productivity anytime, anywhere.
  • Driving digital transformation through AI adoption for office workers, starting with frontline employees.
  • Facilitating cross-departmental data utilization initiatives within client organizations.

We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in Microsoft 365 and Teams who are eager to support customers in advancing their Administrative and Digital Transformation (AX/DX) goals through hybrid work solutions, including Copilot. Responsibilities

Primary accountabilities for this role include:

You will help customers make technical decisions to build tomorrow’s business and IT solutions based on Microsoft technology.

  • You will be the subject matter expert on your local sales team leading technical presentations, demonstrations, workshops, architecture design sessions, and pilots for Copilot for Microsoft 365, Teams Meetings, Calling, and Devices, ensuring customer security and compliance requirements are met; assisting with developing the Microsoft 365 Core, Teams Platform & Ecosystem.
  • You will lead efforts to clarify technical, competitive, and blockers to accelerate sales and usage of Copilot, Viva, Teams Meeting, Calling, and Devices.
  • You will own the technical decision-making process at customers for sales opportunities and usage scenarios, tailoring your message, showcasing technology differentiation, and guiding decision-making.
  • You will collaborate with partners and internal teams at Microsoft, utilizing core tools to extend your reach and that of your team, focusing on satisfying key customer needs.

You will be a vital connection and orchestration point for various technical resources by:

  • Orchestrating complex solutions with internal and external partners across multiple Microsoft products and services.
  • Identifying and diagnosing technical, architectural, and competitive blockers, and implementing solutions to overcome these barriers.
  • Sharing practical knowledge with partners to promote the sale, deployment, and adoption of Microsoft 365 suite, Teams Voice, and Devices solutions.
  • Providing feedback to shape current and future products, marketing strategies, and customer-centric ideas.

Qualifications

Experiences Required: Education, key Experiences, Skills, and Knowledge:

Technical Solution Leader

  • Deep technical experience with design, configuration, and implementation of infrastructure in Microsoft 365, Teams, Viva, and management cloud, with knowledge of competitive products (Google, Zoom, Cisco).
  • Voice & Network Architect: Extensive experience with network routing (TCP/IP, switches, routers, firewalls), telecommunication platforms (TDM PBX, IP-PBX, VTCs, SBCs), voice applications (Auto Attendants, Call Queues, IVRs), and related networks (PSTN, Wireless, IP).
  • Knowledge of cloud trust, including identity, authentication, security, privacy, and compliance (e.g., GDPR).
  • Ability to work cohesively with customers, Microsoft teams, and partners.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, demonstration, writing, and verbal skills.
  • Highly driven, passionate, and goal-oriented.
  • Growth mindset with a passion for learning and sharing knowledge.
  • Technical breadth in Microsoft 365 data lifecycle management, Teams platform extensibility, and competitive unified communications solutions.
  • Experience engaging with senior executives is a plus.
  • Experience in consultative technical selling and innovative problem-solving approaches.
  • Ability to influence and build communities within Microsoft and with customers.

Professional Experience

  • At least 3+ years in technical pre-sales or consulting roles preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
Language Requirements
  • Japanese: Native Level
  • English: Business Level (for presentations and technical discussions)
