Job summary

Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLC in Redmond, WA is seeking a Post Silicon Engineer to own validation of Embedded Processors, PLL, SRAM, DDR and SERDES for MODEM SOC in the Amazon LEO program. You will bring up and characterize hardware, define validation plans, and collaborate with DV, design, and manufacturing teams.

Candidates should have a Bachelor's in EE and 5+ years of SOC/ASIC bring-up experience, with familiarity in I2C, SPI, I3C, eMMC, Python and Embedded C, and hands-on use

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years of Bring Up, Validation and characterization of SOC/ASIC.
• Familiar with I2C, SPI, I3C and eMMC; proficient with Python and Embedded C.
• Experience using Lauterbach or similar JTAG based debuggers.
• Hands-on with bench instruments and high‑speed test equipment.

Responsibilities

• Define, own and maintain Validation/Characterization plan for MODEM SOC and peripherals.
• Define, Design and Bring Up SOC Test Platforms.
• Own test automation and test benches for validation of high‑speed interfaces.
• Drive system level debug with Design, DV, Architects and Manufacturing teams.
• Work in FPGA, Emulators and DV to ensure successful Bring Up.

You will be part of a team that works on cutting edge silicon engineered to operate in the harsh environment of space. The Post Silicon Engineer will play a pivotal role in a team that brings up, validates and characterizes MODEM SOC. In this role you will own Post Silicon validation of Embedded Processors, PLL, SRAM, DDR, SERDES. In addition, you will work with product teams to ensure successful integration, bring up and performance of MODEM SOC in Amazon LEO products.

Export Control Requirement

Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Key job responsibilities

• Define, Own and maintain Validation/Characterization plan for MODEM SOC and associated peripherals.
• Define, Design and Bring Up SOC Test Platforms.
• Own test automation and test benches, for validation of high-speed interfaces and other Peripherals
• Drive System Level Debugs working alongside Design, DV, Architects and Manufacturing teams
• Work in FPGA, Emulators and DV Environment to ensure successful Bring Up.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
• 5+ years of work experience in Bring Up, Validation and characterization of SOC or ASIC
• Familiarity with protocols such as I2C, SPI, I3C and eMMC
• Experience using Bench top instruments (Power Supply, DMM, High Speed Oscilloscope, Signal generator and DAQs)
• Working knowledge of programming languages such as Python and Embedded C
• Familiarity using Lauterbach or other JTAG Based debuggers to program/debug Embedded Processors.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience Validating and Characterizing high-speed interfaces (e.g. SERDES, DDR)
• Power Analysis and Characterization
• Fundamental Knowledge of Signal-Integrity and Power-Integrity
• Experience using FPGA or Emulator for Pre-Silicon Validation and Bring-Up Prep.
• Working knowledge of a MODEM is a plus
• High sense of ownership, urgency, and drive; resourceful, and able to deliver results with minimal direction
