Job description

Modeling & Simulation Software Engineer 2 (AHT) - R10193044

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Modeling & Simulation Software Engineer 2 to join our team at the Northridge, CA location. This is an on-site role only, with no remote work options.

The successful candidate will assist in integrating our C++ based simulation of the AARGM ER missile system into a system of simulations. The team offers opportunities in software development, systems engineering, modeling, and analysis, providing a broad understanding of missile systems. The initial focus will be on software development.

Basic Qualifications:
  • BS in software engineering, aerospace engineering, physics, systems engineering, or related field with 2 years of experience, or MS in the same fields with no experience required.
  • Experience with C++ in object-oriented programming.
  • Knowledge of scripting with Python, BASH, or DOS.
  • Experience with compilers and scripting tools like CMAKE.
  • Understanding of distributed computing architectures.
  • Physics knowledge sufficient to understand flight dynamics and sensors, or coursework in statistics.
  • Current Secret security clearance within the past 5 years, able to obtain SAP clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proficiency with analysis tools like MATLAB or Python (numpy, matplotlib, pandas).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with requirements verification, validation, and high-performance computing.
  • Experience in modeling and simulation of weapon systems, operational analysis, flight dynamics, and tools like CAMEO and AFSIM.

Salary range: $89,400 - $134,200. Benefits include health insurance, life and disability insurance, savings plan, paid holidays, and PTO. The application window is approximately 20 days from posting, but may vary.
