Space Force Analytics LLC is seeking a Mission Engineer with a strong background in space systems modeling, simulation, and analysis. You will design, develop, and verify simulations and execute analysis plans to support SDA T3 Tracking mission capabilities.

You will collaborate with government and contractor teams to mature models, build scenarios, and present results that inform architectural decisions. A highly motivated self-starter is essential.

Qualifications

Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with extensive space systems experience.
15+ years (Master’s) or 17+ years (Bachelor’s) of system engineering and integration.
Experience across space and ground segment organizations to meet end-to-end mission requirements.
Strong modeling, simulation, and mission analysis capabilities.

Responsibilities

Develop model scenarios (GRMs/DRMs) and simulations to support capability and risk assessments.
Review government scenarios to ensure alignment with T3 objectives.
Develop, simulate, evaluate, and present space and ground system performance analyses.
Analyze Coverage, Pd, Pt, Pw, State Vector Accuracy, and System Latency.
Integrate performance models with MBSE models.
Quantify performance impacts and sensitivity to CONOPS changes.
Create data packages to inform government decision makers.
Collaborate with SDA prime contractors, other contractors, and government personnel.

The Opportunity

Do you have a Space Systems Engineering Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis background? Are you looking for an opportunity to apply your technical skills to our nation’s Space Systems? If this sounds like you, come join Space Force Analytics (SFA) and a team of scientists, engineers, and space system acquisition experts that are developing the next generation of remote sensing satellite and ground systems.

You will work with SFA colleagues, other support contractors, and U.S. Space Force personnel to acquire and develop the next generation of satellite systems for Missile Warning (MW), Missile Tracking (MT), and Missile (MD) missions.

Our Tranche 3 Program Integration team has a need for a Mission Engineer with experience analyzing space and ground system architectures through mission thread development and simulation. We are looking for innovative, creative, and highly motivated individuals to mature models and build scenarios (GRMs and DRMs) that effectively capture system of systems effects in complex operational environments. In this position, you will provide systems engineering and integration expertise in support of the SDA T3 Tracking mission capabilities. You will design, develop, and verify simulations, execute analysis plans and generate work products that enable program and architectural decisions. You will work with system analysts and mission analysts to ensure that system capabilities support the mission.

The roles and responsibilities of this position include:

Developing model scenarios (GRM/DRMs, threads and use cases), and simulations to support capability assessments, risk assessments, and other mission-level assessments
Reviewing government scenarios from the PWSA enterprise and prior tranches to ensure that T3
Developing, simulating, evaluating, documenting, and presenting space and ground-based system level performance analysis and trades for space concepts
Analyzing Coverage, Probability of Detection (Pd), Probability of Track (Pt), Probability of Warning (Pw), State Vector Accuracy, and System Latency
Integrating performance models with MBSE models
Quantifying performance impacts on mission and sensitivity to changes in CONOPS, Scenario, or threats
Developing and briefing data packages that provide analysis results to inform the government decision-makers
Collaborating with SDA prime contractors, other team contractors, government officers and civilians, FFRDC,and SETA contractors

You Have

Master’s Degree in Math, Science or Engineering with ~15+ Years of system engineering and integration experience with space, ground, and operations of DoD or NRO programs or a Bachelor's degree in Math, Science or Engineering with ~17+ Years of experience
Experience working across space and ground segment organizations to coordinate and identify system requirements that ensure end-to-end mission performance requirements are met
Strong understanding of modeling, simulation, and mission analysis techniques and tools
Experience with MATLAB, STK, MODTRAN or other comparable modeling and simulation tools
Experienced at self-starting, seeking solutions, and working well in a team environment
Demonstrated experience working with SDA/DoD/NRO customers in an acquisition environment, with space and/or ground systems
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as organizational and interpersonal skills

Nice if You Have

Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) experience using Cameo or other comparable tools
Experience analyzing Minimal Detectable Target Coverage, Pt, Pw, State Vector Accuracy, and System Latency
Experience analyzing the Operational Availability and Functional Availability of Complex Systems
