Responsibilities
- Support and assist in developing test plans, conduct tests, and prepare related reports and safety packages.
- Configure the battle space, perform post-test reconfigurations, and prepare virtual environments with customer-defined threat laydowns.
- Develop and implement threat, SUT, and weapons configurations.
- Operate as a flyer/operator within the simulation environment.
- Instruct, mentor, and demonstrate threat systems, operations, sensor systems, communication, and navigation systems to fellow flyers and engineers.
- Support modeling and simulation activities for the development, upgrade, and operation of simulators related to flying quality, airframes, propulsion, avionics, sensors, weapons, and electronic warfare.
- Provide engineering support for test planning, design reviews, and testing activities.
- Assist in developing operational training programs and department policies.
- Possess recent experience with 5th generation fighter programs as a pilot, test engineer, or developmental engineer.
- Have subject matter expertise in fifth-generation fighter mission systems and sensors fusion, gained through recent experience in test units or developmental organizations.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of Joint Simulation Environment (JSE) capabilities and advise on its optimal use.
- Utilize excellent communication skills to advocate for stakeholder needs and mentor junior staff.
- Maintain flexibility to adapt roles and responsibilities based on customer needs.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5+ years' hands-on experience with aerospace systems, including at least 1 year working with 5th generation fighter aircraft or sensors fusion.
- Desired but not required: Graduate of an accredited Test Pilot School, experience in Developmental or Operational Test, military pilot or test director experience, systems engineering knowledge, and leadership of cross-functional teams.
- Must hold an active DoD Top Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain SCI clearance.
