Modeling and Simulation Engineer, Senior

The Opportunity:

Are you looking for an opportunity to combine your technical skills with big-picture thinking to make an impact in national defense and combat weapon system design? You understand your customer’s environment and how to develop the right systems for their mission. Your ability to translate real-world needs into technical specifications makes you an integral part of delivering a customer-focused engineering solution.

As a systems engineer on our team, you’ll have the chance to assess and evaluate combat weapon systems using computer-based analytical tools, including Excel, MATLAB, and the Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, or Modeling (AFSIM). Your technical expertise will be vital as you evaluate and modernize combat weapon systems. You’ll develop your skills in critical thinking, data analytics, and operations analysis while gaining experience in constructive modeling and simulation of combat operations. You Have:

  • Experience with scenario development and performing analytical assessments of combat weapon systems using mission-level constructive simulation tools, including AFSIM, Suppressor, ITASE, or NGTS
  • Experience with a variety of COTS and GOTS M & S and data science tools, including MATLAB, C++, Perl, or Python, to manipulate data between different formats and perform post-processing of data
  • Experience developing AFSIM scripts to customize model behaviors and decisions within an analytical scenario
  • Knowledge of U.S. and foreign combat weapon systems, including aircraft and ground-based air defense systems
  • Ability to apply Operational Analysis principles, theories, and concepts to execute study plans and analysis matrices
  • Top Secret clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics field

Nice If You Have:

  • Ability to analyze large amounts of raw model output to identify key drivers
  • Ability to distill, summarize, and articulate complex technical insights and findings
  • TS / SCI clearance

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Top Secret clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including location, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, contract-specific affordability, and organizational requirements. The projected salary range for this position is $86,800 to $198,000 annually. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
