Job summary

Wintrust Financial Corporation seeks a skilled Officer to validate AI systems, ML and conventional models, ensuring technical soundness and regulatory compliance across credit risk and related domains.

You will craft comprehensive validation plans, perform rigorous testing, and collaborate with management to address findings and remediation actions, contributing to strong risk management across the enterprise.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of experience related to data science, AI systems, machine learning models, model development, and validation related to credit risk.
• Master’s degree or PhD preferred.

Responsibilities

• Validate bank-wide AI systems, ML models, and traditional models for conceptual soundness and performance.
• Develop validation plans commensurate with model risk tier; perform quantitative and qualitative tests.
• Challenge concepts, data adequacy, and limitations during validation reviews.
• Review model documentation for regulatory and policy compliance.
• Design comprehensive data validation and model governance programs.
• Maintain updates and escalate issues in a timely manner.
• Use the MRM validation tool to execute activities.
• Engage with stakeholders to justify findings and recommendations.
• Assist with reporting to senior management and regulators.
• Coordinate remediation follow-ups with model owners.
