Terms: Direct Hire
Note:
- This is an MBSE-focused Systems Engineering role. Candidates with demonstrated experience using Cameo and SysML in support of hardware, aerospace, defense, or mechanical systems are ideal.
Program Overview:
- This role supports Client's Hypersonics Integration Group, providing systems engineering support to U.S. Air Force hypersonic testing programs. The team currently supports two active programs and an internal investment (IRAD) initiative focused on future hypersonic capabilities.
- Designing and modeling the relocation of a bulkhead system to expand hypersonic testing capabilities.
- Supporting a nozzle development program currently under contract.
- Contributing to an Internal Research & Development (IRAD) initiative focused on future hypersonic sled design and testing, positioning Booz Allen for future Air Force work.
Top Required Skills:
- Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) (highest priority)
- Cameo
- SysML
- Systems engineering documentation and release process experience
- Interface management and systems integration
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience with systems design, integration, and testing activities
- Experience conducting system-level trade studies to identify and balance conflicting requirements
- Experience delivering complex aerospace hardware from concept to test
- Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
- Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with requirements derivation and definition
- Experience with requirements validation and verification
- Experience with a gated design review process
- Knowledge of Systems Modeling Language (SysML) or Unified Modeling Language (UML)
- Knowledge of requirement management tools, including DOORS or JAMA
- Master's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering
Preferred Experience:
Mechanical engineering or hardware-based systems experience
Aerospace or DoD engineering programs
Requirements development, validation, and verification
DOORS, JAMA, and UML
Candidate Profile:
- The hiring manager is looking for hardware-focused systems engineers, not software-focused systems engineers. Candidates with experience supporting aerospace, mechanical systems, defense programs, or test facilities will be the strongest fit. A mechanical engineering background is a significant plus because many of the supported systems are mechanically based.
- Equivalent engineering experience may be considered in place of a traditional engineering degree if the candidate has demonstrated MBSE experience.
Clearance:
- Active Secret clearance is not required to start. Current work is performed at the CUI level.
- Candidates with an active Secret or Top Secret clearance are welcome, and Booz Allen will maintain the clearance.
Interview Process:
- One interview via Microsoft Teams.
- Panel typically consists of the hiring manager, another hiring manager, and an assistant engineer (2–3 interviewers).
- Teams video is required.
Team:
- Current team consists of the hiring manager and one Systems Engineer. The team is expected to grow by at least two additional engineers over the next year, with additional hiring occurring across the broader hypersonics portfolio.
