Job summary

Trideum Corporation seeks a Model-Based System Engineer to support the C5ISR RTI at Fort Belvoir, VA. This full-time role is based at Ft. Belvoir with occasional telework coordinated with the site lead.

You'll document architectures with Cameo/MagicDraw, translate user needs into system requirements, and help verify system functionality through test planning and traceability. Candidates should have 2–7 years of relevant experience and be able to collaborate in a dynamic team.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or related field with 2–7 years of experience; MS/MA in related field with 2+ years of experience.
• Experience with Cameo and MagicDraw (or similar) tools.
• Experience in Windows and Linux/Unix environments with Office and SharePoint.

Responsibilities

• Model-Based System Engineer will support modeling, simulation, and systems engineering activities.
• Decompose requirements into system and software level requirements; specify functionality.
• Develop test plans and verify implementation of system requirements across COTS/GOTS and in-house components.
• Maintain two-way traceability between requirements and tests to ensure coverage.

Trideum Corporation has an opening for a Model-Based System Engineer supporting the C5ISR RTI at Ft. Belvoir, VA. This is a full-time position, located at Ft. Belvoir, VA. Occasional telework will occur with coordination with the senior corporate site lead.

What You’ll Do

Model-Based System Engineer will support Modeling and Simulation and systems engineering activities. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Documenting the “as-is” architecture and execution environment for existing projects with tools (Cameo/MagicDraw).
• Decomposing user new requirements into system and software level requirements to specify system and software functionality.
• Understanding interoperability standards, specifications, and protocols to develop and document interfaces between selected system-level components.
• Developing test plans and procedures intended to verify the implementation of system requirements in both in house developed and COTS/GOTS components and the overall system.
• Documenting two-way traceability between requirements and test procedures, both to ensure test coverage of all requirements and to correlate issues discovered during testing to requirements that are not satisfied within the system under test.
• Supporting test execution, tracking test results, and documenting issues discovered within the system under test.
• Communicate effectively with team members and clearly present technical approaches and findings in teleconferences and meetings.
• Ability to work in a dynamic and continually changing group setting.

Required Qualifications

• BS/BA in Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or related technical field and 2-7 years of professional experience, or MS/MA in Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or related technical field and 2+ years of professional experience.
• Experience working with tools like Cameo and MagicDraw (or similar)
• Experience working within Windows and Linux/Unix computer environment with Office and SharePoint repositories.
• Experience specifying requirements and/or developing and executing testing of computer-based software systems

Desired Qualifications

• Experience with, or exposure to U.S. Army models and simulations.
• Experience with, or exposure to, requirements management processes and practical application of those processes to real development projects.
