Job Description

Assembles orders and prepares goods for shipment. Records shipment data, including weight, charges, and space availability. Receives and unpacks materials and supplies. Reports damages and discrepancies for accounting, reimbursement and record-keeping purposes. Completes shipping and receiving reports. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent with 0 - 2 years experience. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.

Education & Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 0-2 years experience
  • Certified to operate Powered Industrial Trucks; ability to maintain certification.
  • Valid Driver’s License

Skills:

  • Computer literacy to include Warehouse Management Systems and MS Office (Word, Excel, Internet Explorer)
  • Communication Skills – Ability to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization to include customer service, sales, employees and managers.
  • High degree of organizational skills.
  • Regular attendance is essential along with the ability to work daily or weekly overtime as needed.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Position requires sitting, walking, stooping, bending, talking in person and by phone or video, visual acuity; the stamina to work the shift as scheduled and on a regular basis, ability to work in a non-climate controlled facility with exposure to heat and/or cold in accordance with weather conditions, lifting large, small or awkwardly shaped items on a regular or repeated basis as needed, and the physical ability to accommodate extensive use of computer or other electronic equipment.
