Responsibilities

  • Schedule maintenance within calendar, flight-hour and cycle limits per programs and directives.
  • Coordinate with SOC to manage TOPS and routing within time windows considering resources.
  • Ensure planned maintenance remains valid after swaps/reroutes.
  • Respond to deferred/busted tasks and reschedule to maintain compliance.
  • Track MELs, LTDs, CDL, and GMM; collaborate with AOG/MOC for execution.
  • Assist recovery plans if system operations are delayed or cancelled.
  • Ensure aircraft are moved to maintenance locations for timely induction.
  • Complete GenDec and Smartsheet forms and transmit to cockpit crew.
  • Collaborate with System Operations, Airports and Technical Operations leadership.
  • Provide Turnover reports to the incoming Planner and MOC Duty Manager.
  • Coordinate with business partners; perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

Position Summary:

The MOC Planner reports to the Supervisor of Maintenance Operations Center (MOC) Planning and schedules maintenance events during the operational day to maintain Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulatory compliance. The MOC Planner is responsible for ensuring all maintenance is scheduled within the required time, providing viable options necessary to route, re-route, and swap aircraft flying lines to accommodate the planned maintenance requirements. The MOC Planner ensures no overfly activity of maintenance tasks while balancing the needs of Technical Operations, System Operations, Marketing, and other internal/external customers. The MOC Planner has the responsibility for actions required to accomplish repositioning of aircraft for maintenance needs. This also applies during Irregular Operations.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Ensures that the required maintenance is scheduled within the calendar, Flight-hour and flight cycle limits as specified by JetBlue’s approved maintenance programs, Federal Aviation Regulations, Airworthiness Directives and Special Instructions.
  • Works closely with the Systems Operation Center (SOC) to manage TOPS and routing changes such that all maintenance events are scheduled within the time interval (i.e. flight hours, cycles, etc.) of the task while accounting for manpower, ground time, parts, tooling, facilities, weather, etc.
  • Ensures all scheduled planned maintenance is planned correctly after any swap/reroute event.
  • Responds to all requests for deferred/busted tasks and reschedules all deferred maintenance to maintain regulatory compliance.
  • Tracks accomplishment of Aircraft Service Checks, as well as other low-time items, including Minimum Equipment Lists (MELs), Long Term Deferrals (LTDs), the Non-Essential Furnishing (NEF) Configuration Deviation List (CDL), and the General Maintenance Manual (GMM), and collaborates with Aircraft on Ground (AOG)/Maintenance Operations Center (MOC) for execution.
  • Assists with the recovery plan in the event the system operation is impacted by delays or cancellations.
  • Ensures compliance with and tracking of aircraft to designated maintenance locations to meet projected induction date into the JetBlue system (i.e. maintenance ferries, repositioning flights, etc.).
  • Responsible for actions required to accomplish repositioning of aircraft for maintenance needs. Completes the GenDec and Smartsheet forms and transmits the document to the cockpit crew.
  • Collaborates with System Operations, Airports, and Technical Operations Leadership to identify operational issues which impact necessary ground time for planned maintenance.
  • Provides a written Turnover report to the oncoming Planner and also provides a copy to the MOC Duty Manager.
  • Coordinates with business partners.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Experience and Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma
  • One (1) year of aviation experience in Aircraft Maintenance or TechOps
  • Must be able to acquire and maintain a valid Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge
  • Depending on location, may need to acquire and maintain a United States Customs Clearance
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), Airworthiness Directives (ADs) and Service Bulletins (SBs)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Must stay current on all required training throughout employment (ie. Quarterly Distance Learning (QDL), Comply365, etc.)
  • Available for occasional overnight travel (10%)
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
  • Authorization to work in the US is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship
Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Aviation or Business
  • Valid Airframe and Powerplant license
  • Previous leadership experience
  • Two (2) years of aviation experience in Aircraft Maintenance Planning or Aircraft Maintenance field
  • Proficient in TRAX and TOPS
  • Experience with establishing credible cross-divisional relationships
  • Results oriented with the ability to balance diverse and dynamic operational requirements
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Compensation:
  • The base pay range for this positionstarts at$83,786.00 per year.
