Join Omni Wound Physicians - Expanding Advanced Wound Care Services Across Texas

Omni Wound Physicians (OWP) is expanding across Texas, with opportunities in

Houston, Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, Fort Worth, El Paso, and other key regions.

Our mobile wound care team provides high-quality, specialized wound care directly to skilled nursing facilities, long-term care centers, and private residences. We are committed to improving patient outcomes, reducing hospital readmissions, and expanding access to wound care across urban and rural communities.

We are seeking dedicated and skilled Wound Care Medical Doctors (MDs) to lead mobile wound care services in their designated regions. Whether you prefer major metropolitan areas, suburban communities, or underserved rural regions, we have opportunities aligned with your expertise.

At this time, OWP is only considering individuals who will be directly employed by the company. We are not accepting applications from independent contractors, 1099 professionals, third-party companies, recruiting agencies, or staffing firms.

Houston & Gulf Coast Region (Sugar Land, The Woodlands, Pasadena, Pearland, League City)

Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex (Plano, Arlington, Irving, Garland, Frisco, McKinney)

Austin & Central Texas (Round Rock, Cedar Park, Georgetown, San Marcos)

Rural & Underserved Areas Across Texas

Our team covers both urban and rural areas, ensuring that patients across Texas receive high-quality wound care services wherever they are needed.

Schedule & Shift Options

Minimum scheduling requirement : At least two shifts per work week.

Shifts : Typically between 7 : 00 AM - 7 : 00 PM local time (subject to change based on business needs).

Full-Time : Minimum 30+ hours per week (includes full benefits package).

Part-Time : Minimum two shifts per week (paid sick time accrual available).

On-Call & Weekend Coverage : Some on-call or weekend coverage may be required, but team members will typically be notified in advance to ensure personal commitments are not interrupted whenever possible.

Key Responsibilities

Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic wounds, including venous, arterial, diabetic, pressure, and post-surgical wounds.

Perform sharp and excisional debridement, NPWT management, tissue biopsies, and gastrostomy tube care.

Monitor healing progress, adjust therapies based on clinical outcomes, and ensure adherence to advanced wound healing protocols.

Provide wound care training and preventive education to patients, caregivers, and facility staff.

Maintain accurate, timely, and HIPAA-compliant records in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.

Travel 50-70 miles daily to multiple care sites, ensuring seamless patient care across Texas's diverse regions.

Assist in workflow optimization, team training, and other duties as assigned to support expansion efforts.

Qualifications & Experience

Required

Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree

Active, unrestricted medical license in Texas

Board certification in a relevant specialty (Surgery preferred; OB / GYN, Internal Medicine, or Family Medicine also accepted)

Minimum of 3-6 years of clinical practice in wound care, geriatrics, internal medicine, emergency medicine, or related specialties

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Reliable transportation and a valid Texas driver's license

Preferred

Wound Care Certification (CWSP, CWS) or ability to obtain within six months

DEA registration for prescriptive authority (preferred but not required)

Experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, or home health settings

Proficiency with EHR systems and workflow efficiency tools

Regulatory & Compliance Requirements - Texas

Texas has specific regulations governing the practice of medicine :

Prescriptive Authority : Physicians in Texas may delegate prescriptive authority to Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs) and Physician Assistants (PAs) through a Prescriptive Authority Agreement (PAA). The agreement must be in writing, signed by all parties, and include specific elements such as the nature of the practice and a quality assurance plan.

Supervision Limits : A physician may delegate prescriptive authority to a maximum of seven APRNs or PAs, except in practices serving medically underserved populations or facility-based practices.

Licensure and Renewal : Physicians must maintain an active, unrestricted medical license in Texas. The Texas Medical Board oversees licensure, regulation, and discipline of physicians.
