Chesapeake College seeks experienced welding professionals to serve as Mobile Welding Lab Instructors for workforce training programs delivered throughout the region. This position provides hands-on welding instruction in a mobile training environment designed to prepare participants for employment in manufacturing, construction, shipbuilding, and other skilled trades industries.
The Mobile Welding Lab Instructor will deliver intensive daytime training cohorts consisting of approximately 4 days per week for 4 to 5 weeks. Programs are typically offered 3 to 5 times annually, depending on employer, grant-funded, and community workforce needs.
The instructor reports to the Director of Skilled Trades and is responsible for providing quality instruction, maintaining a safe learning environment, and supporting student success.
Compensation is competitive and based on credentials, certifications, experience, and funding source.
This position is ideal for experienced welders who want to give back to the trade, support workforce development, and help prepare the next generation of skilled workers. Instructors have the opportunity to make a direct impact on local industries while teaching in a modern mobile welding training environment. Based on program demand, instructors may also be considered for additional adjunct teaching opportunities within the Skilled Trades programs.
