Bettis Asphalt & Construction, Inc. is seeking a skilled Mobile Welder to join our field crew. You will travel to diverse job sites to perform welding, fabrication, and maintenance on heavy machinery and infrastructure, with a focus on safety and quality.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years welding experience, proficiency in MIG/TIG/STICK, ability to read blueprints, and a commitment to reliable service. Valid driver's license and welding certifications are a plus.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED; welding certification preferred.
• Experience: 3+ years welding and equipment maintenance, mobile work preferred.
• Technical: MIG/TIG/STICK, blueprints, hydraulic/mechanical systems knowledge.

Responsabilités

• Perform on-site welding repairs, fabrication, and reinforcement of equipment and machinery.
• Inspect, diagnose, and repair structural and mechanical components on heavy equipment.
• Operate a mobile welding unit at various locations and maintain safety standards.
• Document repairs, services performed, and materials used for client records.
• Communicate with clients and team members to assess needs and progress.

Mobile Welder

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Mobile Welder to join our team. This role involves traveling to various job sites to perform welding and maintenance tasks on heavy machinery, plant equipment, and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have expertise in welding techniques, metal fabrication, and equipment maintenance, as well as a strong commitment to safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Welding & Repairs: Perform on-site welding tasks, including repairs, fabrication, and reinforcement of equipment and machinery.
• Equipment Maintenance: Inspect, diagnose, and repair structural and mechanical components of heavy equipment using welding techniques and tools.
• Travel: Operate a fully equipped mobile welding unit to provide services at various locations.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of repairs, services performed, and materials used.
• Client Communication: Collaborate with clients and team members to assess needs and provide timely updates on progress.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure all work meets industry standards and project specifications.
• Tool & Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and repair welding tools, ensuring they are in optimal working condition.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED; certification in welding or metal fabrication preferred.
• Experience: Prefer minimum of 3 years of experience in welding and equipment maintenance, preferably in mobile roles.
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficient in various welding techniques (e.g., MIG, TIG, Stick).
  • Knowledge of reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Familiarity with hydraulic and mechanical systems.
  • Maintenance of industrial equipment and machines.
• Licenses:
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Welding certifications (AWS, ASME, etc.) are a plus.
• Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 75 lbs.).
• Ability to climb in and around equipment, vehicles, buildings, and varied terrain.
• Ability to work outdoors in extreme temperatures, both hot and cold.
• Comfortable working in varying conditions, including outdoors, confined spaces, and elevated heights.
• Manual dexterity and physical stamina to operate tools and equipment for extended periods.
