Are you a compassionate veterinarian who values empathy, dignity and the connection between pet and owner in end-of-life care?

We’re seeking a warm, professional Part-Time Veterinarian to join in growing our new mobile euthanasia service, providing peaceful, in-home farewells for pets and their families across the Port Macquarie region.

This role marks the launch of a new service arm within our well-established aftercare business, trusted by the local community for almost 30 years. As our first dedicated mobile veterinarian, you’ll have the unique opportunity to help shape the direction, standards, and protocols of this deeply important service.

What’s Important To You?

Work-life balance: Flexible hours, autonomy, and a manageable caseload.

Emotional fulfillment: A role where your presence truly matters and your work makes a lasting difference.

Professional respect: A chance to work independently and be trusted with decision-making.

Meaningful relationships: With both clients and a supportive, like-minded team values-aligned, supportive team.

Community connection: You care about your community and want to be an important support at a challenging time.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide in-home euthanasia services with care, sensitivity, and professionalism
  • Support families with clear communication, emotional presence, and guidance
  • Manage documentation, consent forms, and medications in accordance with veterinary regulations
  • Offer input into the development of procedures, equipment, and client care standards for the mobile service
  • Liaise with our cremation business for aftercare coordination
  • Maintain timely and compassionate follow-up as needed

What’s on Offer

  • Part-time hours, typically 2–3 days per week (flexible scheduling, increasing with business growth)
  • Initial 3-month contract, with strong potential for extension
  • Suitable work vehicle, equipment and medications provided
  • Attractive remuneration per appointment + travel compensation
  • Play a key role in the establishment of a huge growth opportunity
  • Be part of a respected, locally rooted veterinary business with a 30-year legacy
  • Minimal administrative burden – we handle scheduling and logistics
  • Supportive, purpose-driven team environment

  • Enjoy outdoor living year-round, from surfing and kayaking to bushwalking and vineyard visits
  • A growing regional hub with the charm of a small town and the energy of a thriving local economy
  • Work in a community where your impact is visible, valued, and deeply appreciated

What You’ll Need

  • Current veterinary registration in NSW
  • Full driver’s licence
  • Confidence with solo practice in the field
  • Comfort administering sedation and euthanasia medications
  • A calm, empathetic, and professional bedside manner
  • Willingness to travel within the Port Macquarie and surrounding areas
