Job summary

Heartstrings Pet Hospice in Illinois seeks veterinarians to provide compassionate in-home hospice and euthanasia care across Chicago, West Chicago, Dekalb and surrounding areas. We offer private ownership, flexible full-time or part-time schedules, and a career focused on purpose and respect.

Compensation includes 4-day roles starting at $110,000 annually and 5-day roles at $135,000 base, plus quarterly bonuses. Benefits include health, retirement, CE time, and mileage reimbursement.

Qualifications

• DVM/VMD or equivalent veterinary degree.
• Active North Carolina veterinary license or eligibility.
• Valid driver's license.
• A compassionate heart and commitment to exceptional end-of-life care.
• Availability consistent with the position's schedule, including some weekends.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate in-home hospice and peaceful euthanasia care.
• Coordinate appointments and families with support team.
• Travel to Chicago, West Chicago, Dekalb and surrounding areas to serve clients.

Requirements

Who We're Looking For

• DVM/VMD or equivalent veterinary degree
• Active North Carolina veterinary license or eligibility
• Valid driver's license
• A compassionate heart and commitment to exceptional end-of-life care
• Availability consistent with the position's schedule, including some weekends

Hospice experience is not required. We'll support you as you transition into this meaningful field of veterinary medicine.

Our Two, Three-Day and Self-Managed Flex Scheduling Opportunities Available with Pro-Rated Compensation adjusted based on the agreed-upon schedule.
