Heartstrings Pet Hospice in the Cleveland area seeks an Associate Veterinarian to provide compassionate, in-home euthanasia, hospice, and palliative care. You will work independently in the field while being supported by a collaborative medical leadership team and strong infrastructure.

This role offers flexibility, autonomy, emotional fulfillment, and a low-stress medical environment focused on pets and families during life’s meaningful moments.

Qualifications

• DVM, VMD, or BVMS from an accredited veterinary school required or equivalent.
• Active veterinary license in the state of practice or ability to obtain one.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license required.
• Availability to work some weekends on a rotating schedule.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted and 100 lbs with assistance.
• Background check and MVR check post-hire and prior to start date.

Position Overview

As an Associate Veterinarian with Heartstrings Pet Hospice, you will provide compassionate, gentle in-home euthanasia, hospice, and palliative care. You’ll work independently in the field while being fully supported by a collaborative medical leadership team, dedicated Veterinary Care Specialists (VCS), and strong operational infrastructure.

Veterinarian Core Responsibilities

• Provide in-home euthanasia and hospice care for geriatric and terminally ill pets
• Guide families in making end-of-life decisions for their pets
• Build relationships with local veterinary clinics, serving as an extension of their excellent care

Requirements

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM, VMD, or BVMS) from an accredited veterinary school
