Compensation

Hourly pay rate is $14.90 - $22.40/hour. The hourly rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's experience. In addition, this role is eligible for an annual incentive/commission target of $6,000.00.

Job Description

A Mobile Inspector II functions as a member of the Manheim Express team for a designated region with primary responsibilities of providing accurate and complete documentation of overall vehicle condition within the parameters of a Manheim Express Inspection.

  1. Locate, start, move, inspect, and return vehicles on dealer’s lots safely.
  2. Conduct thorough assessment of vehicle condition following the Manheim Express Inspection process.
  3. Verify vehicle identification and enter accurate vehicle information into the inspection system to correct VIN, mileage, and sub series.
  4. Inspect vehicle equipment and options, documenting results including damage, missing or inoperable items.
  5. Inspect and record vehicle exterior condition, including tires, frame, glass, panels, and mechanical components.
  6. Inspect and record vehicle interior condition, including seats, dashboard, and options.
  7. Perform basic mechanical checks on vehicles including powertrain, drivetrain, and electrical components.
  8. Work closely with teammates, field sales, and customer care to create a superior customer experience.
  9. Utilize SalesForce.com for reporting, lead input, and customer performance reviews.
  10. Inform and educate dealers of changes in auction policies and procedures.
  11. Partner with clients to inspect vehicles at their location and request more inventory.
  12. Follow all safety and health procedures, actively participating in safety activities.
  13. Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience & Knowledge

  • High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience.
  • Advanced automotive knowledge preferred.
  • Two years of automotive-related experience preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record required.
  • Reliable transportation required, mileage reimbursed.
  • Local travel/field work 100%.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong technical aptitude.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Experience with handheld and documentation devices preferred.
  • Motivated to work independently with remote supervision.
  • Ability to multitask, follow directions, and take instructions.
  • Knowledge of body, paint, and mechanical repair helpful.
  • Familiarity with unibody and full-frame vehicles helpful.
  • Physical ability to lift at least 30 lbs and perform various physical activities.
  • Near vision abilities to identify damages and colors.
  • Ability to deal with different lighting conditions.
  • Requires physical and mental acuity to meet job requirements within timeframes.

Drug Testing

Pre-employment drug test required; no marijuana testing currently. Possession, use, or influence of illegal drugs during work is prohibited.
