Position: Mobile PICC Registered Nurse (PRN) Location: Austin, TX and Surrounding Areas Schedule: PRN / Per Diem | Flexible Shifts
About the Role
We seek an experienced and dependable Mobile PICC RN to join our responsive vascular access team. This is a flexible, per diem opportunity to perform ultrasound-guided PICC and Midline insertions across various settings—hospitals, SNFs, LTACs, and home environments in the greater Austin area.
If you’re confident in your insertion skills, comfortable working independently in the field, and passionate about delivering high-quality care, this is a chance to combine flexibility with clinical impact.
Key Responsibilities
Travel to local hospitals, SNFs, and patient homes to perform ultrasound-guided insertions (PICC, Midline, or peripheral as appropriate)
Assess patients and recommend the most clinically appropriate vascular access device
Maintain sterile technique and follow infection control protocols
Accurately document all procedures according to clinical and legal standards (EMR proficiency required)
Communicate with care teams, triage nurses, and physicians to coordinate access efficiently
Provide clear post-insertion education to patients and caregivers
Qualifications
Active, unrestricted RN license in the state of Texas
At least 1 year of experience with independent PICC and Midline insertions
Proficient in ultrasound-guided vascular access
Strong documentation, communication, and patient education skills
Reliable transportation and ability to travel within the Austin metro
Comfortable working autonomously in mobile environments
