Job summary

Baton Rouge Comprehensive Treatment Center, part of Acadia Healthcare’s network, operates a mobile opioid treatment unit. We seek a Driver/Security to operate the mobile unit in the Baton Rouge area, ensuring safety and uninterrupted service for patients.

The role requires early morning shifts, driving the unit to locations, monitoring security, and maintaining logs and vehicle readiness. Training and adherence to background checks are required.

  • Experience with mobile units preferred.
  • Ability to identify and address routine issues with the mobile unit.
  • Coordinate timely service and repairs to support safe patient care operations.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the mobile unit to scheduled locations in a safe, compliant manner.
  • Maintain security at the dispensing site for staff and patients.
  • Perform daily vehicle inspections and complete maintenance checklists.
  • Keep logs up to date and ensure fuel level is adequate.
  • Assist patients getting in/out of the mobile unit and operate wheelchair lifts as needed.

Baton Rouge Comprehensive Treatment Center, located in Baton Rouge, LA is part Acadia Healthcare’s Comprehensive Treatment Centers, the leading provider of medication assisted treatment in the nation. Our mission is to provide full-circle care that includes a blend of therapies and the use of safe and effective medications. Our team is the front-line for the fight against the opiate epidemic.


Our Mobile Unit

We have expanded our treatment options in order to be able to provide much needed care for patients within the community. Our teams are equipped with counselor’s and dispensing nurses that the patients would need from our facility, but within our mobile unit to high-quality counseling and therapy to patients that are seeking recovery from Opioid Use Disorder.


This position requires a Level 2 Background Screening through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse. In accordance with Florida law, employers must provide applicants with direct access to information about the state’s background screening requirements.

Your Job As a Driver/Security

The driver will drive the mobile unit to specified leased parking lot space location. Our mobile team will be in the Baton Rouge Parrish Area and will serve as an expansion of our existing Baton Rouge Treatment Center. The driver maintain security at the dispensing site for the safety of the staff and patients.


Your Responsibilities As a Driver/Security Person


  • Drives the mobile unit vehicle in a safe and conscientious manner complying with company policies and procedures as well as State regulation laws.

  • Interacts with staff and patients in a professional manner, reports any suspicious behavior to the staff inside the unit and clinic director and/or supervisors.

  • Monitors parking area to ensure that no loitering or misconduct takes place, monitors the area ensure safety and patient-compliance, and completes frequent sweeps around the entire unit.

  • Drive the mobile unit to destination as scheduled and timely.

  • Assists patients as they get into the and out of the mobile unit.

  • Operate the wheelchair lifts as needed when applicable.

  • Report traffic delays enroute back to supervisor.

  • Report any incidents or accidents to supervisor.

  • Complete daily visual inspection of vehicle before and after each trip and completes daily and weekly maintenance check list. Report any problems in writing to clinic director and Lei Kennedy.

  • Check the vehicle to ensure there is an appropriate amount of fuel (gas) in the tank prior to picking up staff and medications. Vehicle should not arrive at the dispensing site with less than a ½ of tank full.

  • Maintain accurate logbooks, as required including daily and weekly maintenance checklists.

  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness, interiors are to be kept clean and disinfected at all times. Upon return to clinic, all trash should be removed. Medical waste will be removed by staff.

  • For all maintenance services and repairs, notify clinic director and Lei Kennedy for scheduling any services or repairs needed.

  • Perform other duties as clinic director assigned.


Your Education, Skills And Qualifications


  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required

  • Clean driving record with no points

  • Must be comfortable with working in an addiction recovery environment

  • Knowledge/experience working within substance use disorder (SUD) and treatment industry preferred.


License/ Certifications


  • Valid Driver’s license in the state of LA required.

  • First Aid/CPR certification, preferred.
