Job summary

Southern Tire Mart in Lafayette, LA is seeking a tire service technician to respond to roadside and on-site service calls with a fully equipped service truck. You will mount, dismount, balance, and repair tires, perform light mechanical repairs, inspect wear, and operate TPMS and diagnostic tools.

You will work safely under DOT regulations, provide clear customer communication, and assist with warehouse duties when not on service calls. CDL preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record (CDL preferred but not required).
• Ability to lift and move tires weighing 30-250 lbs., with or without mechanical assistance.
• Capable of working independently in various weather and road conditions.
• Strong problem-solving and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Respond to roadside and on-site service calls using a fully equipped service truck.
• Mount, dismount, balance, and repair tires for passenger, light truck, commercial, and industrial uses.
• Diagnose and repair tire-related issues and perform light mechanical repairs as needed.
• Inspect tires and wheels for wear, damage, and proper inflation.
• Perform fleet inspections and preventative maintenance checks when required.
• Operate TPMS and other diagnostic tools.
• Maintain the service truck, tools, and equipment in safe operating condition.
• Follow DOT regulations, company safety policies, and traffic laws at all times.
• Provide clear communication of service details and timelines to customers.
• Assist with warehouse or shop duties when not on service calls.
