Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Inc. is seeking a Mobile Tire Mechanic to support tire installation and inspection on company tractors and trailers at customer sites and rail yards.

The role requires outdoor work, varying shifts including nights and weekends, and full-time attendance. You will follow safety guidelines and maintain tire inventory while ensuring OSHA compliance and quality service. Starting pay range is $21.62–$24.82 per hour with relocation assistance for qualified candidates

Job Summary

Under general supervision, this position is responsible to properly installing and inspecting tires on company tractors and trailers on customer sites and rail yards. This position has the possibility to work outdoors, in the elements, or across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends in addition to overtime; it requires full-time attendance.

Key Responsibilities

• Install and inspect tires on tractors and trailers using Company guidelines
• Observe all Company safety requirements
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Organize and maintain tire inventory for trucks
• Ensure compliance of safety policies including all safety and OSHA requirements while at a customer facility or rail yard

Shift Schedule

Shifts may vary based upon location and business needs.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Ability to work outdoors, in the elements, or across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends if needed
• Must possess a valid drivers license and ability to pass J.B. Hunt standards for operation of a company vehicle
• Basic tools are required to successfully perform this role. These tools must be supplied by the employee in most locations. Employees without their own tools may obtain them through toolbox purchase program

Preferred Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent with 6 to 12 months in tire related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must possess a valid drivers license and ability to pass J.B. Hunt standards for operation of a company vehicle.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team (no direct supervision).
• Ability to multitask.
• Ability to exercise discretion.
• Basic deductive reasoning skills.

Starting Pay and Relocation

The expected starting pay range for this position is between $21.62 - $24.82Don’t let distance keep you from becoming a part of our team! Relocation assistance may be available for qualified candidates located outside a 50-mile radius of the job.

Compensation

Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position may be eligible for annual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volumes in accordance with the terms of the Company’s bonus and incentive plans, as applicable and in effect from time to time.
