Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent with up to 1 year of semi-tractor/semi-trailer maintenance experience or military equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience in DOT/FHWA inspections and air brakes.
• Willingness to work outdoors and across multiple shifts, including nights/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic preventive maintenance (tires, brakes, electrical) on tractors, trailers, and related equipment.
• Operate service truck safely and maintain cleanliness and stock.
• Document work orders and damages for subrogation and records.
• Demonstrate basic use of cutting torch and welding equipment for minor repairs.
• Patch holes and perform minor structural repairs as needed.

This position has the possibility to work outdoors, in the elements, or across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends in addition to overtime; it requires full-time attendance.Job Description:Sign on bonus may be available for a limited time.Key Responsibilities :With guidance, perform basic preventive maintenance tasks to include, but not limited to, tire replacements/flat repairs, brake adjustments/services/replacements, electrical diagnostics, basic structural repairs on trailer chassis, sub-frames, etcFollow all safety requirements while at a customer or rail yardOperate assigned service truck in a professional manner and according to company requirements; keep unit clean and well stockedAccurately complete work orders and other written materials according to established proceduresProperly document damage to company equipment to allow subrogation of repair costsUnderstand and demonstrate the basic use of a cutting torch and welding equipment; perform minor repairs on chassis, frames, brackets, etcPatch holes in trailer/container side panels and roofs ensuring all holes are sealed and water tightPerform annual AA Trailer and FHWA Brake Inspections under supervision of a certified technician as requiredQualifications:Minimum Qualifications :18 years of age for equipment up to 10,000lbs or 21 years of age for equipment over 10,000 lbs AND Demonstration of the following skills and abilities through education, certifications, military, or other experiencesPossess a clean motor vehicle record per J.B.
