Qualifications

Job description

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Diagnoses malfunctions and performs vehicle repairs, including testing and adjusting systems such as steering, electrical, cooling, brakes, drive trains, suspensions, engines, and more, ensuring compliance with all relevant guidelines. Test-drives vehicles to verify repairs.
2. Arranges inspections and obtains approval for major repairs before releasing vehicles from maintenance.
3. Maintains a safe, clean, and efficient work environment in accordance with all safety guidelines.
4. Identifies and reports additional maintenance needs during repairs, including those requiring higher qualification levels.
5. Records work details accurately, including time, parts, and repairs.
6. Advises the Maintenance Manager of unsafe conditions or vehicle abuse.
7. Performs road calls and on-road repairs as assigned.
8. Upholds high ethical standards and personal integrity, reporting suspicious or inappropriate behavior.
9. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

1. 5-7 years of medium/heavy truck fleet mechanic experience.
2. Preferred: 2+ years supervisory experience.
3. Skills in diagnostics, electrical systems, and AC.
4. Technical knowledge of major vehicle systems and diesel equipment.
5. Experience with fleet vehicles, diesel, and gasoline systems.
6. Possession of necessary hand tools for a Diesel Technician.
7. Good judgment and decision-making skills.
8. Valid state license (CDL preferred). Company offers free training for mechanics.
9. Valid passport and willingness to travel 100%.
