Job summary

FleetPride is seeking a Mobile Technician I in Louisville, KY to perform basic preventive maintenance and repairs on trucks and trailers with limited supervision. The role involves working in the shop between service calls and may participate in after-hours on-call rotation for the location.

The ideal candidate has a High school diploma or GED; 1+ year of maintenance/repair experience on Class 7–8 trucks; valid driver's license; hand and air tools provided. CDL is a plus but not required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Diesel tech cert is a plus.
• 1+ years of maintenance/repair experience on Class 7 & 8 trucks and trailers.
• Valid driver's license; Class A CDL is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes and filter replacements.
• Maintain 80% productivity; limit comebacks to zero.
• Repair/relimes/replace brakes (air, hydraulic, electric, and brake accessories).
• Test drive vehicles and test components with proper equipment.
• Troubleshoot exhaust, steering, and air conditioning systems.
• Record services and parts used, noting any customer requests.
• File, grind, sand and smooth filled or repaired surfaces with power/hand tools.
• Maintain clean, organized workspace and service truck; practice safe driving.

The Mobile Technician I is expected perform basic preventive maintenance and repairs with limited supervision on trucks and trailers. This technician will also work in the shop between service calls. They may also be asked to participate in the after-hour on-call rotation for the location, if needed.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform routine and scheduled maintenance services such as oil changes, lubrications and filter replacements.
• Maintain 80% productivity Limit comebacks to zero
• Repair, reline, replace, and adjust brakes (air, hydraulic, electric and brake accessories).
• Test drive vehicles and test components using proper equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair, exhaust systems, steering systems, air conditioning.
• Record final measurements, services and parts used during the last stage of a job, noting any special customer request(s).
• File, grind, sand and smooth filled or repaired surfaces, using power tools and hand tools.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace and service truck.
• Practice safe driving.

Education & Training

High school diploma or GED Diesel Technology certificate/degree is a plus, but not required.

Knowledge & Experience

1 + years of experience with basic maintenance/repairing class 7 & 8 trucks and trailers

Skills & Abilities

Valid driver's license with good driving record required. Class A CDL is preferred, but not required. Must provide hand tools, air tools, and toolbox. Maintain perfect safety record Ability to lift 50lbs.

Working Conditions

Exposure to Inside/Outside Conditions, Extreme Temperatures (average of 100 Degrees F), Humid Conditions, Chemical Hazards, Vibration, Equipment Noise, Work in enclosed and confined spaces.
