Job summary

Southern Tire Mart in Mobile, AL is hiring a Mobile Tire Technician to respond to roadside and on-site service calls with a fully equipped service truck. You will mount, dismount, balance, and repair tires for passenger, light/medium, and heavy-duty vehicles, diagnose tire issues, and perform light mechanical tasks as needed.

The role emphasizes safety, clear customer communication, and flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays; CDL is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record; CDL preferred but not required.
• Overtime may be required.
• Heavy-duty/commercial tire experience preferred, not required.
• Ability to lift 30–250 lb tires with or without assistance.
• Flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Capable of working independently in varying weather and road conditions.
• Strong problem-solving and customer service skills.

• Operate TPMS and diagnostic tools.
• Maintain service truck, tools and equipment in safe condition.
• Follow DOT regulations, safety policies and traffic laws.
• Provide exceptional customer service with clear timelines and communication.
• Assist with warehouse or shop duties when not on service calls.

Job description

Diagnose and repair tire-related issues and perform light mechanical repairs as needed.

Inspect tires and wheels for wear, damage, and proper inflation.

Perform fleet inspections and preventative maintenance checks when required.

Operate tire pressure monitoring systems (TPMS) and other diagnostic tools.

Maintain the service truck, tools, and equipment in safe operating condition.

Follow DOT regulations, company safety policies, and traffic laws at all times.

Provide exceptional customer service, including clear communication of service details and timelines.

Assist with warehouse or shop duties when not on service calls.

Skills / Education / Requirements:

Must be at least 21 years of age.

Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record (CDL preferred but not required).

• Possible overtime may be required.

Experience with heavy-duty/commercial tires preferred, but not required.

Ability to lift and move tires weighing 30-250 lbs., with or without mechanical assistance.

Capable of working independently in various weather and road conditions.

Strong problem-solving and customer service skills.
