Job summary

Western Express is seeking a fleet maintenance technician to service tire and trailer systems across our nationwide network. You will diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair dry van and flatbed trailers, recording detailed information into our computer systems and coordinating with shops as needed.

Qualifications

• Pass pre-employment drug screening.

• Valid Driver’s License / CDL Driver’s License is a plus.

• Regular full attendance required for assigned shift.

• Ability to understand and implement instructions, guidelines, and pertinent information necessary to complete daily tasks and assignments.
• Must be able to move, sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs. with regularity and up to 100 lbs. on occasion.

Responsibilities

• Ensure detailed information is captured and keyed into computer systems and relayed to the shop or service provider as needed
• Follow our tire program on each unit and identify needs.
• Follow all DOT rules and regulations for your safety and the safety of the driver.
• Resolve issues to take care of drivers and customers while providing excellent customer service.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair fleet of dry van and flatbed semi-truck and trailer bodies, systems, and components
• Perform preventative maintenance including preventative, warrantable, and accident-related repairs
• Inspect suspension, wheel-end, braking, and structural components to match company and DOT specifications
• Test equipment for performance issues

• Follow prescribed procedures and protocols at all times.

Pay Range: $35.00 - $39.00
