POSITION SUMMARY

A Mobile Service Technician performs repairs and/or maintenance on Heavy and Medium Duty vehicles at various locations away from the dealership. This role involves maintaining a client’s fleet at their specific location or performing emergency repairs in the field. The candidate must be committed to providing an exceptional customer service experience, which includes booking appointments, seeking additional business, and developing/maintaining customer relationships. Under minimal supervision, the technician will perform all functions of a fully qualified heavy and medium duty truck repair technician. Travel within the designated region is required, and the technician will work in the shop when no road work is available.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

• Function as an on-call roadside technician, performing repairs on-site.
• Respond to calls 24/7 unless flagged as “unavailable” by the Service Manager.
• Foster a positive customer experience by listening to customer needs and understanding the overall complaint.
• Diagnose problems using OE software and other tools.
• Communicate issues to customers professionally and promptly.
• Perform mechanical repairs on vehicle components for medium or heavy-duty trucks.
• Validate repairs to ensure customer problems are resolved.
• Tag, wash, and box warranty parts and return them to the appropriate dealer location.
• Manage parts inventory on the service truck and keep the vehicle properly stocked.
• Complete paperwork professionally and promptly; may collect payments at the time of service.
• Maintain all equipment according to company standards, including basic maintenance, fueling, oiling, cleaning, and inspections.
• Participate in service training and apply that training in daily work.
• Perform additional duties and repairs as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES / ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE

Reports directly to the Service Manager or Designee for daily tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The following are requirements of the role:

• High school diploma or GED; college degree or trade school certification preferred but not required.
• Previous dealership experience is preferred but not mandatory.

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Must pass MVR check.
• Must have or be able to acquire a minimum Class B CDL endorsement.
• Industry certifications are preferred.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening and background check.
• Flexible schedule including nights and weekends based on customer workload.
• Own all necessary hand tools for repairs on heavy and medium-duty trucks.
