A leading trucking service company is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician to join their service team in Virginia. This full-time position requires candidates to have experience in repairing and troubleshooting diesel trucks, conducting inspections, and performing preventive maintenance. Qualifications

  • 3 years experience as a Diesel Technician required.
  • CDL preferred but not required.
  • Must maintain a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Perform troubleshooting and repairs on all major components including brakes, tires, HVAC, and electrical systems.
  • Conduct DOT inspections and perform PM services as needed.
  • Complete necessary paperwork including DOT forms and repair orders.

Job description

Thompson Truck Group is seeking candidates to add to our Mobile Diesel Tech staff. Pay based on experience. The position will work within the service department as well as through a mobile service truck.

  • Experience in light, medium, and heavy duty class 8 tractors required.
  • Prefer someone with bumper to bumper experience on fleet equipment.
  • CDL preferred BUT NOT REQUIRED.
  • Able to troubleshoot and repair all major components of truck and trailer including brakes, tires, hvac, electrical.
  • Must be able to perform electronic diagnostics AND REPAIRS, using a laptop to connect to & retrieve fault code information and follow F CAP instructions to complete repairs needed.
  • Required to perform DOT inspections.
  • Required to perform PM services as part of job as needed.
  • Must be able to complete all necessary paperwork including DOT forms, PM service forms, repair order story’s using the three C’s.
  • Must have own hand tools.
  • Required to do road service calls and mobile maintenance when needed, capable to make decisions in the field and able to work with minimal supervision on maintenance truck.
  • Maintain clean and organized work area, help with keeping shop clean and organized
  • Clean driving record, CDL preferred
