Job summary

IU Health is seeking a CDL‑B coach driver based at Bedford Hospital, with travel across Indiana to support mobile health screening events. You will coordinate routes, assist patients, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance throughout daily operations.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED (associate degree preferred), 0–3 years of driving experience, and BLS certification. Valid Indiana license with clean record, GPS/ELD knowledge, and familiarity with DOT rules are essential.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or GED; Associate degree preferred.
• 0–3 years of relevant experience.
• CDL B license and valid Indiana driver’s license with clean 5-year record.
• BLS certification required.
• Knowledge of GPS, Electronic Logging Devices (ELD) and basic computer skills.
• Knowledge of Federal and State DOT regulations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate driving the mobile health screening coach to locations throughout Indiana for events and maintenance.
• Set up and tear down the coach per manufacturer guidelines to ensure safety.
• Plan routes and parking to accommodate vehicle size and weight; return to approved location daily.
• Complete pre- and post-trip inspections and document as required.
• Assist patients with entering/exiting the coach and with registration.

Overview

Schedule: Flexible day shift hours; Monday- Friday with some potential weekends

Location: This position will be based out of the Bedford Hospital, with travel to surrounding counties near Bloomington, IN.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinates driving the mobile health screening coach to various locations throughout the state of Indiana for screening events, community events and regular maintenance/repair services.
• Responsible for the proper set up and tear down of the coach adhering to manufacturer guidelines to create a safe patient and team member environment around and on the coach.
• Ensures the route of travel and parking location will accommodate the vehicle size and weight and returns the coach to the approved parking location at the end of the day, unless overnight stay is planned.
• Ensures all required pre and post trip inspections are completed and documented as required.
• Assists patients with entering/exiting the coach and registration.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED is required. Associate's Degree is preferred.
• Requires 0-3 years of relevant experience.
• Requires a valid CDL B license.
• Requires a current valid Indiana drivers license with a good driving record over the past 5 years.
• Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
• Requires knowledge using GPS, Electronic Logging Devices, and basic computer skills.
• Requires knowledge of Federal and State Department of Transportation rule and regulations.
