Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in Social Sciences, Social Work, or related field.
  • Two years of experience delivering crisis behavioral health services.
  • Knowledge of evaluation, assessment, and crisis intervention techniques.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Valid Florida Driver License.

Responsibilities

  • Provide crisis intervention to individuals in the community.
  • Assess individuals requesting emergency services and conduct risk assessments.
  • Complete safety planning with individuals in crisis.
  • Deliver in-home and therapeutic services using an interactive approach.
  • Conduct a minimum of three follow-up interventions via face-to-face or phone contact.

Position Summary

South County Mental Health Center, Inc. is seeking a Mobile Response Team Specialist to provide emergency evaluations, crisis intervention, risk assessments, safety planning, and therapeutic services to individuals experiencing behavioral health crises in the community. This position also coordinates referrals, follow-up services, discharge planning, and community-based support to ensure clients receive appropriate care.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Social Sciences, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Two (2) years of experience in the delivery of crisis behavioral health services.
  • Knowledge of evaluation, assessment, and crisis intervention techniques.
  • Demonstrated emotional and psychological resilience when working in trauma and mental health situations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Valid FL Driver License.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field.
  • Advanced crisis counseling and intervention experience.
  • Experience providing community-based or mobile crisis services.
Duties and Responsibilities
Crisis Assessment & Intervention
  • Provide crisis intervention to individuals located in the community.
  • Assess individuals requesting emergency services.
  • Respond to crisis situations and conduct risk assessments.
  • Complete safety planning with individuals experiencing a crisis.
  • Provide in-home and therapeutic services using an interactive approach.
  • Provide a minimum of three (3) follow-up interventions through face-to-face or telephone contact.
Clinical & Administrative Services
  • Provide warm handoffs to appropriate agencies and community services.
  • Assist clients with transportation, consent to treatment, releases of information, and attendance at initial appointments.
  • Interpret and apply the Baker Act and Marchman Act as appropriate.
  • Provide appropriate referrals and educational services within the community.
  • Attend staff meetings and treatment team meetings.
  • Conduct community outreach as needed.
Quality Improvement & Care Coordination
  • Work closely with team members throughout the treatment process to coordinate services and meet client needs.
  • Coordinate appropriate discharge planning.
  • Maintain records and logs of mobile crisis assessments and community contacts, including telephone and face-to-face interactions.
  • Interact with community agencies and provide crisis intervention training and education.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities.
Additional Duties

Physical Demands
  • Position requires working directly with individuals experiencing behavioral health crises.
  • Community-based and in-home services may require travel to various locations.
  • May involve working in unpredictable or high-stress environments associated with crisis intervention.
Working Conditions
  • Community-based behavioral health environment.
  • Frequent interaction with individuals experiencing mental health and behavioral health crises.
  • May require travel throughout the community to provide mobile crisis services.
  • Position may involve responding to emergency situations and working in environments outside of a traditional office setting.

Performance will be evaluated based on:

  • Quality and timeliness of crisis assessments and interventions.
  • Appropriate completion of risk assessments and safety planning.
  • Effectiveness of follow-up interventions and warm handoffs.
  • Accuracy and completeness of clinical documentation.
  • Effective coordination of referrals and discharge planning.
  • Compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and Center policies.
  • Participation in quality improvement activities.
  • Professional communication and collaboration with clients, families, staff, and community agencies.
Schedule & Work Details

Full-Time Position

Schedule: Monday – Friday (hours may vary based on organizational needs)

Location: Community-based / In-person
Pay: $22 per hour Bachelors; $27 per hour Masters
