Job summary

Accendra Health is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to support patients across Waukegan, Rockford, and nearby Wisconsin. This role mixes office work with field visits to set up and service oxygen, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilation equipment.

You will educate patients, document care, and collaborate with physicians and care teams. Travel and on‑call duties are part of the role, with a focus on high‑quality, compassionate care.

Qualifications

• Active IL Respiratory Therapist license required; WI license possible.
• Ability to stand, lift, push and/or pull objects 10–50 lbs.
• Valid driver’s license and comfort with mobile tech and digital documentation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct home visits to set up oxygen, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilation equipment and follow-ups.
• Educate patients and caregivers on equipment use, cleaning, troubleshooting and maintenance.
• Assess patient needs, document care delivered, and escalate concerns as needed.
• Respond to hospital discharge requests and support patient needs.
• Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and internal branch teams.
• Maintain accurate documentation using iPad/laptop.
• Set up and operate various respiratory care devices (oxygen, nebulization, PAP, ventilation).
• Inspect and test equipment to ensure proper operating condition.
• Perform clinical assessments (pulse oximetry, ETCO2, spirometry) and collect vital signs.
