Qualifications

• 2-year college degree in Respiratory.
• Valid driver's license issued by the resident state.

Responsibilities

• Setting up medically prescribed respiratory equipment and supplies.
• Meets patient's goals and needs and provides quality care.
• Trains patients and caregivers on ventilators and other respiratory and DME equipment.
• Respiratory equipment follow-up.
• Evaluates effects of respiratory therapy treatment plan by observing, noting, and evaluating patient's progress.
• Discharge planning with physicians, nurses and social workers; contribute to patient care conferences.
• Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment per procedures and regulations.
• Adheres to infection-control policies to protect patients and staff.
• Maintains operation of equipment; troubleshooting and calling for repairs.
• Keeps up professional knowledge via workshops and publications.
• Develops respiratory therapy staff via in-service training.
• Complies with laws and regulations; advises management on needed actions.
• Contributes to team effort by achieving related results.
