Job summary

PSC Group is hiring a Mobile Railcar Repair Technician to join a safety‑first team in the United States. The role requires traveling 50–75% to railcar sites and performing repairs and maintenance, including reading work orders and blueprints to guide tasks.

You will work a Monday–Friday day shift with occasional weekend work, receive on‑the‑job training, and benefit from generous medical, life and disability insurance, a 401(k) plan, vacation, and development programs.

Qualifications

• Experience is a plus but not required; on‑the‑job training provided.
• May require a valid Driver’s License and/or a valid TWIC card depending on location.
• Must be 18 years or older and legally eligible to work in the U.S.
• Pass a drug screen, physical, and background check.
• Wear required PPE and pass medical exams.
• Speak, write, read fluent English.
• Regular on-site attendance and punctuality.
• Previous military experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Travel 50%–75% to operate on railcars.
• Assist with tank qualification on railcars and inspect for safety.
• Perform and coordinate railcar repairs and maintenance.

• Prepare railcars for visual inspections (grinding, torching, buffing).

• Ensure compliance with FRA, AAR, ARS, and customer standards.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Willing to travel 50%–75%
• Assist with tank qualification on railcars
• Work safely around heavy equipment, railcars, and tracks
• Perform and coordinate railcar repairs and maintenance
• Operate forklift/telehandler as needed
• Prepare railcars for visual inspections (grinding, torching, buffing)
• Interpret work orders and blueprints for repairs
• Use mechanical skills for welding, cutting, and gougingReport needed materials or equipment
• Follow safety rules and maintain clean work areas
• Ensure compliance with FRA, AAR, ARS, and customer standards
• Complete other assigned duties as required

Job Qualifications:

• Experience is a plus but not required, and paid on-the-job training is available
• May require a valid Driver’s License and / or a valid TWIC card, depending on work location
• 18 years or older and legally able to work in the U.S.
• Pass a drug screen, physical, and background check
• Wear all required PPE without restriction and pass any required medical exams
• Speak, write, read fluent English
• Regular on-site attendance and punctuality is required
• Previous military experience and proven ability to follow procedures is a plus

Monday - Friday Day Shift (Some weekends required)
