Job summary

The Marathon Detroit Michigan Refinery has an opening for a pump mechanical mobile operator. You will repair, troubleshoot, and install rotating equipment and read mechanical drawings as part of a hands-on maintenance role in a refinery setting.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver's license, and the ability to pass a DOT physical as well as written and hands-on tests. The position is based in Detroit, MI with strong safety and teamwork expectations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Must pass DOT physical.
• Must pass written and hands-on skill tests.

Responsibilities

• Repair, troubleshoot, and install rotating equipment (centrifugal, axial, and reciprocating compressors).
• Repair pumps (centrifugal, diaphragm, and positive displacement).
• Handle chemical injection pumps and turbine/motor-driven equipment drives.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings and schematics.
• Complete maintenance documentation and safety compliance.
