Job summary

West Coast Wound & Skin Care invites a skilled Podiatrist to join our mobile clinical team serving Los Angeles and surrounding care settings. You will evaluate and treat diabetic foot conditions, chronic wounds, and other lower-extremity issues in homes, SNFs, and ALFs, coordinating with wound care colleagues and other professionals for comprehensive patient care.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree from an accredited institution.
• Active and unrestricted California Podiatric Medical Board license.
• Current DEA registration, as applicable to the position.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible preferred.
• Experience in wound care, diabetic foot management, limb preservation, or lower-extremity care preferred.
• Experience working with medically complex or geriatric patients preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment and decision‑making skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently in a mobile/field‑based environment.
• Valid California driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to travel throughout the assigned Los Angeles territory.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive podiatric evaluations and examinations.
• Diagnose and treat conditions affecting the foot, ankle, and lower extremity.
• Evaluate and manage diabetic foot conditions and complications.
• Assess and treat foot and lower-extremity wounds, including diabetic ulcers, pressure injuries, and other chronic wounds.
• Perform appropriate in-office/mobile podiatric procedures, including nail care, debridement, and other minor procedures.
• Identify patients at risk for diabetic foot complications, infection, ulceration, and limb-threatening conditions.
• Provide preventive foot care and patient education.
• Assess circulation, sensation, skin integrity, and other factors affecting lower-extremity health.
• Collaborate with wound care providers, primary care providers, nurses, home health agencies, facility staff, and other members of the patient’s care team.
• Develop and implement treatment plans and make referrals when indicated.
• Provide recommendations regarding footwear, offloading, pressure reduction, and prevention of recurrent wounds.
• Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as appropriate.
• Document patient evaluations, diagnoses, procedures, and treatment plans in the EMR.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, caregivers, and facility staff.
• Participate in coordinated wound care and multidisciplinary patient management.
