Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Software Development Manager to lead a team building foundational mobile services and frameworks powering the Amazon Shopping app on iOS and Android. You will hire, coach, and set the technical roadmap, guiding architecture decisions for scale, reliability, and performance.

You will partner with product managers and other engineering teams to align priorities, manage cross-team projects, and ensure on-time delivery while maintaining high engineering quality and strong

Qualifications

• 3+ years of engineering team management experience.
• 5+ years of Software Engineer, Software Developer, or related occupational experience.
• 1+ years of providing technical leadership and project management for all aspects of the software development lifecycle experience.
• 1+ years of developing large-scale, multi-tiered distributed software systems using Java, C#, or C++ experience.
• 1+ years of developing large-scale, multi-tiered distributed software systems using service-oriented architecture experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead, hire, and develop a team of software engineers and own the technical direction for mobile services and frameworks across the Amazon Shopping app.
• Drive architecture decisions balancing scale, reliability, performance, and developer experience.
• Define metrics, manage on-call rotation, and invest in automation to reduce operational work.
• Collaborate with product managers and peer teams to align priorities and deliver cross-team projects on schedule.
