Job summary

CompuNet Clinical Laboratories is seeking a Mobile Phlebotomist for the Southern Indiana region (Terre Haute, Bloomington, Bedford). The role is part-time, day shift from 4am to 11am, Monday through Friday, about 32 hours per week. Travel to LTC facilities and homes for specimen collection and processing is required.

The starting pay is $23 per hour plus mileage reimbursement. Must have at least 1 year of phlebotomy experience, reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and liability

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • At least 1 year of phlebotomy experience.
  • Experience in mobile phlebotomy/long-term care is a plus.
  • Must have reliable transportation to travel to facilities.
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license and proof of liability insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Perform phlebotomy and processing duties per departmental procedures.
  • Follow proper patient identification and specimen labeling procedures.
  • Process specimens to maintain integrity for transport to testing facility.
  • Provide training when needed.
  • Operate and maintain lab equipment and computers/printers.
  • Read, collect, and receive all ordered tests accurately.
  • Adhere to LTC/facility/company safety policies and PPE requirements.
  • Work as part of a team and follow behavioral standards.

Mobile Phlebotomist - Southern Indiana region (Terre Haute, Bloomington, Bedford)

Starting pay - $23 per hour plus mileage reimbursement

Part time - Day Shift - Monday through Friday, 4am to 11am (approx 32 hours per week)

Position Summary:

Phlebotomist travels to Long-Term Care Facilities (LTC) and other offsite collection facilities to collect and process specimens for testing. The LTC phlebotomist is expected to "float" between long-term care facilities and patient homes to provide quality phlebotomy skills and specimen processing at each facility depending on need.

Essential duties and responsibilities:
  • Perform all phlebotomy (venipunctures and capillary punctures)/processing duties as outlined in the departmental procedure manual.
  • Follow proper procedures for patient identification and labeling of laboratory specimens.
  • Process specimens to maintain specimen integrity for specimen transport to testing facility.
  • Perform training responsibilities if needed.
  • Operate and maintain departmental equipment, including but not limited to, computers and printers.
  • Correctly read, collect, and receive all laboratory tests ordered.
  • Complete training when new procedures are introduced, or current procedures are changed.
  • Comply with all LTC and other facility, departmental, company, safety and regulatory policies and procedures.
  • Work as a team and perform all duties according to Compnet's behavioral standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Must be high school graduate or equivalent
  • Must have at least 1 year of phlebotomy experience
  • Experience working in mobile phlebotomy/long-term care setting is a plus
  • Must have reliable transportation for driving to each facility
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license
  • Must maintain and show proof of liability automotive insurance
Safety & Physical Demands:
  • Must be able to stand for the entirety of the shift
  • Exposure to biohazard substances and hazardous chemicals
  • Adherence to safety, ergonomic, and health policies
  • Compliance with PPE requirements in lab or biohazard areas
  • Completion of required safety training and health evaluations promptly
  • Proactive approach to identifying and addressing safety hazards, promoting safety awareness
