Travel to Skilled Nursing Facilities and Private Residential homes to service patients. Treat all customers in a courteous manner. Ensure all urine and oral fluid specimens and phlebotomy specimens are collected accurately and on time.
- Collect specimens according to established procedures.
- Complete requisitions accurately.
- Process and package specimens for transport. Maintain required records and documentation.
- Read, understand, and comply with departmental policies, protocols, and procedures (e.g., Procedure Manuals, Safety Manual, Compliance Manual, Automobile policies and procedures, Employee Handbook, Quality Assurance Manual).
- Maintain all appropriate collection logs.
- Submit accurate expense forms, if applicable, on the required day. Demonstrate organizational commitment.
- Adhere to departmental and company grooming, dress code, and lab coat policies; appear neat and clean at all times.
- Report to work on time, following attendance guidelines.
- Answer the telephone in a friendly and helpful manner, including the company name, self-identification, and a helpful statement.
- Communicate appropriately with clients, customers, coworkers, and the general public.
- Keep information confidential per company and procedural policies.
- Report unresolved problems immediately to the appropriate Manager, Supervisor, Group Leader, or Phlebotomy Services Rep. II for resolution. Remain polite and courteous at all times.
- Keep work area neat and clean. Dispose of biohazard containers as scheduled.
- Assist with inventories and other tasks as assigned.
- Stock supplies as needed.
- Perform department-related clerical duties when assigned.
- Answer phones and dispatch calls when assigned.
- Participate in teams and special projects when asked.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
Preferred
High School diploma or equivalent.
Licenses & Certifications
Required
Preferred
Nationally Certified Phlebotomist (Phleb).
