At MKBC, we save lives daily by providing blood products to hospitals in PA and NJ. The Collections Specialist (Phlebotomist) supports this mission by collecting blood donations safely, compassionately, and professionally from volunteer donors. Starting salary is anticipated at $18.00 per hour, commensurate with experience. Responsibilities

1. Provide exceptional donor experiences based on your experience and knowledge.
2. Utilize all computer systems to process donors through screening, blood collection, and automated procedures when appropriate.
3. Ensure donor safety by complying with all standard procedures and regulatory standards.
4. Set up supplies and equipment, complete daily quality control, and ensure readiness for each collection event.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Medical Assistant or Phlebotomy Certification strongly preferred.
• At least 6 months' experience in a blood center or healthcare environment preferred.
• One year of customer service experience preferred.
• Effective communication skills in English and proficiency with basic computer tools required.
• Problem-solving and decision-making abilities required, with guidance as needed.

Additional Information

This role reports to the Donor Collections Manager. Hours vary daily, generally from 7 am to 3 pm or 12 pm to 8 pm, with a variable schedule including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays. Schedules are provided two weeks in advance.
