Pay Range: $16 - $21 DOE
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Drive personal vehicle to client facilities (mostly nursing homes) as directed by dispatcher or supervisor.
- Follow established phlebotomy procedures for blood sample collection.
- Identify patients properly according to policy before drawing blood.
- Label specimens accurately and ensure they are accompanied by completed requisitions.
- Transport PHI in accordance with company policy.
- Plan and organize draw schedules prioritizing patients.
- Complete logs, timesheets, and records neatly and accurately.
- Coordinate with dispatch, payroll, laboratory, and courier departments.
- Maintain equipment and report issues immediately.
- Respond promptly to company mobile device when on duty.
- Notify dispatch of availability for future assignments.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Current clinical licensure if required by state.
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to laboratory work.
- Proficiency in phlebotomy procedures including venipuncture and site decontamination.
- Knowledge of specimen preservation and patient preparation.
- Valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
- Access to a vehicle in good condition.
- Good driving record.
- Ability to work independently and maintain accurate records.
- Understanding of patient rights and refusal policies.
- Ability to obtain blood under various patient conditions.
- Proficiency in English communication skills.
- Ability to build effective relationships with clients and staff.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Professional conduct and ability to follow directions.
