Pay Range: $23-$26, depending on experience
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Drive personal vehicle to client facilities (mostly nursing homes) as directed by dispatcher or supervisor.
- Follow established phlebotomy procedures for blood sample collection.
- Properly identify patients according to policy before drawing blood.
- Label specimens correctly, ensure they are in proper tubes, and include completed requisitions.
- Transport specimens following PHI policies.
- Plan and organize draw schedules prioritizing patients.
- Complete logs, timesheets, and records accurately and neatly.
- Coordinate with dispatch, payroll, laboratory, and courier departments.
- Maintain equipment in good condition and report issues immediately.
- Respond promptly to company-issued mobile devices and be available for work.
- Notify dispatch of availability for future assignments.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications
- Current clinical licensure, if required by state.
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to laboratory work.
- Proficiency in phlebotomy techniques, including venipuncture and site decontamination.
- Knowledge of specimen preservation, patient preparation, and procedures.
- Valid driver's license and auto insurance.
- Access to a well-maintained vehicle meeting daily driving needs.
- Good driving record.
- Ability to work independently and maintain accurate records.
- Understanding of patient rights, including the right to refuse treatment.
- Ability to obtain blood specimens under various conditions.
- Proficiency in English communication skills.
- Ability to build effective relationships with clients, patients, and staff.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Ability to follow directions and conduct oneself professionally.
Licenses & Certifications
- Driver's License (required)
- CPT/Phleb Cert - Level 1 (required)
