APPS Paramedical is one of the largest paramedical companies in the United States, offering nationwide coverage as we complete insurance physicals for people applying for life, health, or disability insurance products. The Austin office for APPS is looking for quality medical professionals to help us complete these exams in a timely, professional manner on behalf of the insurance company to which the policy is being applied. Job Summary: Our independent contractors (ICs) are self-motivated, detail-oriented, organized, and able to work with minimal supervision as they completed quality exams while using their medical know-how. These exams are done on a mobile basis in the home or office of the client and may involve blood draws, medical histories, signatures on packets, vital signs, saliva samples, and 12 lead EKGs. They should be committed to following all compliance policies as well as safety policies and procedures while remaining sensitive to the need for accuracy and confidentiality in the gathering of client information. Depending on the exam requirements, an exam can last anywhere from 15 minutes to a little over an hour. Hours: Set your schedule! We offer exams 7 days a week and 52 weeks a year. Most of our contractors have full-time jobs and use this as an opportunity to make even more money each month. We schedule your appointments for you, so you get to focus on what you do best…medical exams! Reimbursement: You are reimbursed every two weeks by direct deposit for each exam you complete. Territory: Set your territory by choosing the zip codes you will work within. Orientation: We provide a 6-hour orientation time to verify your skills as well as show you the paperwork and website used by our ICs. Equipment: Reliable vehicle, Scale, 2 Measuring tapes(one to be cloth), Blood pressure cuff, tablet/laptop with touch screen capability, internet access, and printer. Centrifuge, and EKG machine (can be purchased or rented from us for $5/mo). Use of your equipment will be considered but is not guaranteed. Qualifications: Minimum 2 years of phlebotomy experience, as well as familiarity with taking vital signs. Familiarity with tablets/computers and scanners is a must. Preferred experience with pediatric and geriatric patients/home health. EKG experience is preferred, but not required. Please expect references to be checked as well as a background check and drug test. Education preferred: High school diploma or equivalency. Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant certificate preferred. Due to the high volume of applications we receive, please do not call. Also, it is not possible to respond directly to all applicants but only those whose candidacy is being pursued will be contacted.
