Job summary

Johns Hopkins University (SPARC Center) seeks an Outreach Worker in Baltimore to provide harm reduction services to female sex workers, on a mobile unit and at a drop-in center. You will conduct outreach in groups, distribute Naloxone and safer-use supplies, and promote center services while building community rapport.

Flexible schedule of 4–18 hours per week with shifts on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Prior outreach experience and ability to work with diverse populations are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; equivalency may substitute experience as allowed by policy.
• Experience with diverse populations, including sex workers, is preferred.
• Prior outreach or fieldwork experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Promote SPARC Center services and events (clinic hours, classes, support groups).
• Distribute Naloxone and train community members on its use and benefits.
• Provide harm reduction education and distribute safer drug-use supplies and condoms.
• Distribute promotional items and attend community meetings to build rapport with neighborhood associations.
• Build rapport with community members, including sex workers and local business owners.
• Occasionally assist in the Drop-In Center with general tasks.
• Potential to facilitate peer groups and trainings.
• Other duties as assigned.
