CHSI is a private, non-profit organization established in 1973 to serve the health needs of migrant & seasonal farm workers and their family members. Today, CHSI has expanded services and provides mental & physical healthcare to all individuals in our communities. Our services are provided on a more affordable sliding fee scale to those who are under-insured or un-insured. We also accept ND and MN Medicaid, Medicare, and most private insurance plans. We currently operate four nurse-managed clinics, two mobile medical units, and two victim advocacy program centers in Minnesota & North Dakota.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We are searching for a full-time Mobile Outreach Coordinator to join our Moorhead, MN team.

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Mobile Outreach Coordinator (MOC) for CHSI works closely with the Advocacy and Mobile Health Manager, CEO, COO, and other staff to lead CHSI's mobile intervention unit. The Mobile Unit extends coverage for all CHSI services including medical, dental, and behavioral health. The unit focuses on providing high quality mobile outreach services to the most remote and vulnerable communities in North Dakota and Minnesota through robust community engagement and service provision. The MOC will be responsible for all technical and operational aspects of managing the mobile van and will ensure that all mobile unit practices are aligned with the Mobile Unit standards operating procedures (SOP).

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist the Mobile Health Manager with coordinating mobile clinic schedules and daily operations.
  • Support the planning and execution of mobile dental clinic visits and community events.
  • Assist with tracking outreach events, clinic utilization, and operational data.
  • Notify the Mobile Health Manager of scheduling conflicts, operational issues, or changes requiring leadership attention.
  • Provide administrative support related to mobile health operations, including documentation, reporting, and recordkeeping.
  • Schedule patients for mobile unit missions prior to or during mobile events including patient registration and check in processes.
  • Prepare daily schedules, site information, and logistical materials for mobile clinic teams.
  • Safely operate a full-size pickup truck while towing the mobile dental clinic to scheduled locations.
  • Assist with in-clinic building maintenance needs and coordinate with maintenance teams and vendors to address facility issues and ensure safe, functional clinic operations.
  • Safely operate a mobile medical vehicle to scheduled locations.
  • Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and routine safety inspections of the truck, trailer, and mobile medical unit.
  • Ensure proper hitching, electrical connections, brakes, lights, leveling, and stabilization of the mobile unit.
  • Navigate routes while considering weather, road conditions, and trailer restrictions.
  • Maintain vehicle logs, mileage records, fuel records, and inspection documentation.
  • Coordinate routine maintenance, repairs, licensing, and registration for the truck and mobile units.
  • Maintain compliance with all state and federal transportation regulations.
ARE YOU A GOOD FIT?

In addition to being a wonderful team member and coordinator, we are seeking an individual with the below qualifications:

PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
  • In an eight hour workday, the employee must be able to: bend and crouch occasionally,
    sit continuously and stand or walk frequently.
  • Employee must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Employee must be able to use hands/arms, feet/legs for repetitive fine to large motor skill
    movements.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 1. Bachelor's Degree in Project Management, Community Development, Public Health, or related studies; experience in the health sector preferred but not required
  • 2. At least 3 years' experience in a similar role or carrying out similar duties
  • 3. Demonstrated track record of successfully working with rural communities in the US and leading community engagement activities
  • 4. Excellent English language oral and written communication and presentation skills are required. Fluency in Spanish is a plus
  • 5. Strong interpersonal skills
  • 6. Must possess ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • 7. Friendly, enthusiastic, and positive attitude
  • 8. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • 9. Knowledge and experience coordinating volunteers
