Job summary

Britt Medical seeks a part-time Optometrist to deliver mobile vision care across Gilroy and Fremont. You will perform comprehensive eye exams, diagnose refractive errors, prescribe eyeglasses and medications, and coordinate referrals for systemic conditions.

The role involves documenting care, coaching staff, and traveling between sites as part of the mobile program. California license and glaucoma certification are required; bilingual candidates are preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school or college of optometry.
• Current California optometry license and all required state credentials.
• Board certified with TPA and TLG/TPG glaucoma certification.
• Two years of optometry experience preferred.
• Bilingual skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive vision and ocular examinations through a mobile vision program.
• Diagnose and correct refractive errors (myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism, amblyopia).
• Prescribe eyeglasses, lenses, and ocular medications.
• Order and interpret testing for glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, cataracts, macular degeneration, and other ocular disorders.
• Evaluate patients for hypertension and diabetes and coordinate referrals.
• Counsel patients on eye health and preventive care.
• Co-manage ocular conditions with optometry and refer complex cases.
• Maintain thorough clinical documentation and treatment plans.
• Train and support assistants in optometric duties.
• Participate in staff meetings, training, workshops, and special projects.
• Provide care across Gilroy and Fremont as part of the mobile program.
• Travel between service locations and community sites as needed.
