Job summary

Eye Catching Jobs in Bakersfield, CA seeks a licensed optometrist to join a mobile clinic delivering eye exams and glasses to students in underserved communities. This independent contractor role offers flexible schedule and travel within Kern County.

The position requires a CA Optometry License, the ability to commute, comprehensive eye health assessments, and patient education. Mileage reimbursement is included; no nights or federal holidays are required.

Qualifications

• California Optometry License must be held.
• Pass Department of Justice background check (LiveScan) and drug test.

Responsibilities

• Provide vision evaluations: check VA’s, assess binocular vision, IOP, pupils, perform a full refraction and prescribe appropriate correction, and assess ocular health.
• Prescribe vision devices, tests patient on all applicable equipment to determine the most suitable for his/her condition, and instruct patient in the proper use of it.
• Confirm that patient diagnosis is properly documented in the internal systems.
